Taranaki Women’s Refuge Pop-Up Shop 2024
What an incredible 10 years it has been! The Taranaki Women’s Refuge Pop-Up Shop 2024 has officially wrapped up, and we are still overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown by the local community. Held at New Plymouth Raceway from October 11 to October 20, this year’s event marked a decade of fundraising success and reached a new record: $86,000 raised to support women and children affected by domestic violence.
The Pop-Up Shop has always been about more than just clothes—it’s about community and making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most and this year, it exceeded all expectations. Over the course of 10 days, more than 2000 shoppers came through the doors to purchase items generously donated by the people of Taranaki. From designer garments to everyday essentials, the quality and variety of items available for sale were truly exceptional.
None of this would have been possible without our dedicated committee and the outstanding support of our volunteers who processed a staggering 9 tonnes of pre-loved clothing, shoes, and accessories. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes, sorting and preparing donations, setting up, and ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the event. Their hard work and dedication made the Pop-Up Shop a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
The outcome is a testament to this hard-working committee and the incredible community spirit we have here in Taranaki, and we couldn’t be more thankful for each and every person, sponsors and business who played a part in making this year’s Pop-Up Shop such a success.
This year’s Pop-Up Shop may have ended, but the impact will be felt long after the final sale. We are already looking forward to next year’s event, and we hope to see even more of you join us in supporting women and children in need.
